Fourth Grade Math
The most important thing you can do to help your child in math this year is to focus on mastering all multiplication facts as quickly as possible. We will be learning 2-digit multiplication and long division soon. Have your student got onto MobyMax.com Fact Master or xtramath.org to work on their fluency.
Our new Math Series this year is GO MATH!. We use ThinkCentral.com for videos, interactive book and quizzes/tests. Students need to be logged on to their google chrome account in order for it to work.

HOW CAN PARENTS HELP?!
I understand that math is very "different" from in the years past:) However, you can still support your child in math at home!
Here is how...
~ Check our website under math for nightly homework and be sure your child completed the assignment
~Help your child access Think Central from home. (Our math program is called Go Math and the online component is called Think Central.) Most kids have a difficult time doing this independently and will need your help the first few times! (See instruction link above.) It is easiest to do this sooner rather than wait until it is necessary to complete a homework assignment.
~When a test is assigned, encourage them to complete the Think Central assignment online! This is a great tool for them to review for a test. It will ask them questions, allow them to solve it step-by-step, and there is an option for trying another type of problem.
~If your child doesn't have their multiplication facts memorized, practice at home! We will be using xtramath.org in class. They can use this on the days we don't use it in class. You can google fact practice online and there are many math games available for them to play.
~Remind your child to check Google Classroom. There may be notes, a graphic organizer and/or a YouTube video to help them complete homework.
~There are a lot of videos on YouTube that go along with our Go Math series. Help your child find a video on YouTube to go along with our lesson or topic.
Thank you for your support! :)
